The Master Password feature in Firefox lets you minimize the number of passwords you have to remember and maximize how secure they are. It also works on Firefox for Android.
After you have set a master password, you are prompted to enter it each time you want to see your stored passwords. These are kept in Tools, Options, Security.
Your master password will unlock the usernames and passwords you have saved and Firefox will automatically fill them in for you as you browse the web. When you’re done browsing, you can quit Firefox to lock up your usernames and passwords again.
To set it up on your Android phone, go to Menu and Settings. Tick the Use Master Password box. Create a master password and select OK.
To set it up on your computer, go to Tools, then Options. On the Security tab, tick ‘Use a master password’. Type a password and a quality meter will tell you the strength of your password. Click OK. Now you have fewer things to remember and can feel a bit safer.
