Important Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows 8

As with other versions, Windows 8 has lots of keyboard shortcuts that make using it quicker and easier. Here’s our list of Windows 8’s most useful keyboard shortcuts:

Windows Key - Go to Start menu.
Windows+C - Open Charms menu.
Windows+D - Reveals traditional desktop; press again to minimise all desktop Windows.
Windows+Q - Search Charm. The Search Charm is set to whichever app you are currently using. You can quickly switch to a file search with Windows+F, or settings search with Windows+W.
Windows+Z - Displays the app bar and gives contextual options in individual apps.
Windows+X - A handy pop-up menu of Windows power-user commands.
Windows+H - Share Charm.
Windows+I - Setting Charm.
Windows+L - Locks computer.
Alt+F4 - Closes the current app. You can also use your mouse to click at the top of an app and drag it to the bottom of the screen.
Ctrl+Shift+Esc - Go to Task Manager.
